I want to believe, I really do.

I sure hope St. S. doesn't love me the same way I love rib eye steaks.
You think .30-06 is enough? Or should I go with 12-ga. magnum deer slugs?
My flame thrower is in the shop.

The venerable 30-06 should produce a DRT result on any squatch, but what about shot placement and meat damage?
I mean can you even make table fare from a squatch? Someone has to have a recipe...

Shot placement? Neck. If I miss the spine I'm pretty sure to get a carotid or jugular. Meat'll be OK unless you like smoked tongue.
I figure he'll be mighty tough and stringy, so I'll give Sasquatch au vin a try, slow cooked at least 24 hrs.
Or maybe chili.

I was considering constructing a Squatch roasting "PIT", thing is I am unsure of the dimensions to dig the hole. But at any rate line it with brick and get a steel cover and toss that monster in there for 12 hours over the coals for slow roasted goodness.
Think 7 feet long is going to be enough?

Hence my concern as to shot placement, I to am partial to the Thymus and any upper torso wound is likely to spoil supper.
As to the hole size, I'm all for simply beheading the creature and removing the legs in the knee vicinity to save on some digging. The man servant is getting on in years and I fear for the old boys well being digging a hole that size.
He keeps whining incessantly in that Pacific Islander gibberish tone about acquiring a bobcat to dig all these holes but fails to realize his net worth in servitude simply doesn't warrant the cost of a piece of heavy equipment.

Good point about an upper torso shot messing things up. I guess a plain ordinary head shot would be best as all the brains or eyeballs I've eaten have been awfully bland.

It occurs to me that we might be missing out on some revenue by letting out the red mist in the cranial region. I mean what's a squatch head mount worth these days?
I'm not concerned with sullying my silverware with eyeballs or brain matter, those are best left aside for the help.
I am going to employ the .223 high speed low drag round of choice for the squatch utilizing hand loads of 55 grain non cannelured V-Max rounds pushed to 3600FPS, that ought to destroy the arteries in the legs and preserve the carcass.
