Check out the reaction to the interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy with Ice T's response. sounds like he didn't get the answer he was searching for.

Krishnan Guru-Murthy, anchor, Channel 4 News: So do you carry guns routinely at home?

Ice-T: Yeah, it's legal in the United States. It's part of our Constitution. You know, the right to bear arms is because that's the last form of defense against tyranny. Not to hunt. It's to protect yourself from the police.

Anchor: And do you see any link between that and these sorts of incidents (Aurora)?

Ice-T: No. Nah. Not really really. You know what I'm saying, if somebody wants to kill people, you know, they don't need a gun to do it.

Anchor: It makes it easier though, doesn't it?

Ice-T: Not really. You can strap explosives on your body, they do that all the time.

On anti-gun laws: "That's not going to change anything. The United States is based on guns, you know."

"It's to protect yourself from the police" That's deep. You have to know something of the man's music, lyrics, and recant's from his old school albums to really appreciate that particular quote from Ice T. I mean the man painted a picture of himself engaging in rampant felonious activities to get paid, the very things that when arrested and convicted are cause to lose those 2nd amendment rights forever.

Either he lied about being a hardcore criminal or he was as bad ass as he says and just never got caught / convicted, but in the present tense the words about tyranny and especially bearing arms to protect yourself from the police really strike a nerve with me. Today, the law abiding have everything to "fear" from the police.

When unjust, unconstitutional laws are passed it's the local police that are used as proxy thugs. Or at least to the extent that they are willing themselves to enforce those laws. If you don't know by now cops by and large could care less about your civil and constitutional rights just think a minute about what went on when Katrina came through NOLA and the surrounding areas.

These fuggin liberals want your guns, they know damn well an armed populace isn't going to take it in the ass. Never, ever give up your firearms while your still alive and breathing and able to pull a trigger. You'll be slaves to a government the day you do it willingly.

Go get your favorite refreshment, or whatever it takes for you to be comfortable enough for 7 minutes and watch this video, please.
