    Sunday Sanity Break.

What a week. Possibly the nadir of American politics has been reached. I dunno'. I lost interest on Saturday and took the lil' man to the model train show and then drove around to different open houses in town where train enthusiasts...um...opened their homes to the public to show off their train layouts. Then we set up our train set at home. Which got me thinking. Doing junk like that is what life is about. It's not about worrying over what the latest and loudest mouth farter spewed all over the news. Further, this is supposed to be entertaining. I was too infuriated to be entertained last week. So, I've decided to start Sunday a lil' early with a lil' more optimism and positivity. Because that's what it's all about.

And it just wouldn't be Sunday without Unky' Als' favorite band, Daft Punk

Hee hee. I'm just ribbin' ya'. The next tune goes like this.

So there you go. Go be positive. Be happy. Be an optimist. Be Conservative.

Louis and the band for your listening pleasure, what an incredible voice and style his music gave to us.

I don't know about the rest of you, but this song always makes me feel good. But then, any time I hear Mark Knopfler playing his Les Paul it makes me feel good.

Original MTV Video: [EDIT: this is not the MVT version, but the flash-of-naughty version]

Here's the same song at a Montserrat benefit concert with Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, and Sting doing a surprisingly good job of it:
