By now you know Yahoo! fired it's Washington bureau news chief for saying that Romney is happy to party while black people drown....On live television. So in less than a week we've gone from God smiting the Republicans with a hurricane, to Republicans praying their way out of the hurricane, to Republicans planning their convention to coincide with the anniversary of Katrina, to Republicans celebrating the presumed drownings of black people in New Orleans...which, if you've been following the Demoncats line of reasoning, makes perfect sense. It makes sense because the Demoncats said that this hurricane was GODS WILL. So why wouldn't you celebrate your passing unscathed from Gods judgement while those who have angered the Lord get their just desserts? Wouldn't not partying make God angry?
But the bigger problem I have is with Chalians racist perception that black people can't swim. That's what he's saying. He specifically says "while black people drown". Why can't they swim? Are their hands full of crack pipes and fried chicken? I'm pretty sure I heard him say that after his on air comment.
Now, people like Gwen Ifill, are saying stuff like, "One mistake does not change this. David Chalian is Gods gift to political journalism."
Political pundits Gwen. Pundits. Possibly Gods gift to Republicans. But, as Dana Loesch so eloquently points out, "Chalian didn't make a mistake; he made a confession" He's confessing that he thinks black people can't swim...um...amongst other things.
Another achingly cute article by my not so secret crush, Dana Lowes..Loesh...oh Dana, were you mine, I would be able to spell your last name.
Anyway, at least we had last week off from all this racy racism and unembiggening bigotry. Guess it's back to the DNC playbook for the rest of the month.
