Whoa whoa whoa. I don't want any Americans in Syria. Let the oil wrestling sadists do the job. I'm just settling down in the bleachers with my pennant and program gettin' ready to root for the good guys.

Hey c'mon. Jugears is leading from behind. He might throw in a couple of drones, kill our allies by mistake, um that's how Israel becomes collateral damage by the way.

You just hate the Turks more than moldy jelly and a$$. It's understandable. But isn't that in itself an endorsement of their enemy killing capabilities? Who would you pick to take over rebel brigades? The Japanese? The Canadians? Personally, I'd roll with Mexico. They could use a victory.

I don't hate the Turks. They're swell guys. Look at how well they've treated Hagia Sophia - finally changed it from a mosque to a K-mart.
The Turks are our NATO allies, I'd pick up a gun and defend her myself if the USSR ever attacked them.
-
Mistress of the Snark
OK it was easy to say that because the USSR is gone. Tee-hee.
So who blew up Damascus today? Are the Turks already at it - the Palestinians have joined the rebels? The Canadians are fleeing Iraq, why don't they just go to the US embassy it's the size of Nova Scotia.
Where is our CIC? Somewhere in what, Ohio?
Edit
Canadians have cut diplomatic relations with Iran

The rebels went after that section of town because that's where Assads security agencies are. I doubt if the Turks set the bomb, but I'm pretty sure they helped identify the target.

Turkey used to be a military supported secular state. Over the past several years it has become an Islamist state. The Syrian rebels are Islamist. The Muslim Brotherhood is supporting the rebels. Palestinians have joined the rebels.
I'm afraid the war is just another Islamist take over.

Yes, I would agree, except that the Turks, as you so adroitly point out, are NATO members. I'd like nothing better than for Turkey to slaughter pretty much everybody and set up their own government there.
What? A boy can dream can't he?
I just don't see Turkey handing Syria over to a group that will be a bigger pain in the ass for them than Assad has been.

Let 'em all kill each other. Less for the Israelis to kill when they finally snap and turn the whole area into a 40 foot crater.
